From Floaties to Fearless: A Summer of Swimming and Good Vibes ๐โโ๏ธโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
This summer, I had the absolute pleasure of teaching private swimming lessons to Lori Ripplinger's grandkids and a few of their friends, and let me tell youโthey were some of the cutest and best-behaved kiddos Iโve ever met! Weโre talking about June, Jade, Riggen, Rustin, Brynlee, Marvin, Brookie, Zaiden, and Roz. These kids were polite, kind, and just a shining example of great parenting. ๐๐
From day one, their skills improved significantlyโwe went from floaties and plugging noses to no floaties and fearless jumps! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ I couldnโt be prouder of them all! Watching them grow in confidence and skill was pure joy, and I even made some fantastic friendships with Lori and the mamas along the way. ๐๐ค
Now, letโs talk about Loriโs poolโan absolute gem! ๐ Itโs a heated saltwater pool, something I had never experienced before, and let me tell you, my hair has never been softer. ๐งโโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ No chemicals, just pure, silky goodness! The salinity of the pool made it a bit tricky to get to the bottom, but WOW, what a difference it made. ๐ Iโve spent a lot of time in pools, but this was next-level! ๐๏ธโจ
Iโll be the first to admit, there arenโt a lot of things I can do really well, but swimming is definitely one that I can doโฆ.really, really well. I love the water. I love to swim. I love the lake. I love the ocean. I swear I could probably swim before I could walk! ๐โโ๏ธ๐ฆ So, big kudos to all the mama bears who made swim lessons a priority this summer. It is TRULY one of the most important LIFE SKILLS your kids should EVER learn. If not THE most important life skill. ๐ช๐ถ
And I think the kidsโ favorite part? โGoinโ to the bank!โ ๐ฆ The last 5-10 minutes of class, the kids would close their eyes while I threw coins into the pool. Whatever they could recover, they got to keep. Not only was this fun for them (who doesnโt love free money?), but it also served a purpose. Suddenly, kids who were hesitant to get their faces wet or go underwater were diving in like pros! I was so proud of how far they pushed themselves out of their comfort zones. ๐ฐ๐ฆ
If youโre looking to keep the good vibes rolling, you absolutely have to visit Lori and her daughter, Kelsey, out at what they call โthe farm (the brew farm)โ. ๐๐พ Kelsey and her husband run Paper Street Brewing Company in Pasco, and trust me, if you havenโt been there yetโฆwhat are you waiting for? Kids are welcome, and the vibe is as laid-back and chill as it getsโjust the way I like it. Lawn chairs, fire pits and live music. Is there really anything better than that? ๐ถ๐ป Itโs a little slice of heaven right here in the Tri-Cities! ๐ ๐ Donโt miss outโcheck them out at paperstreetbrewingco.com.
