If We Had a Kid, I would hope for an Austin 🩷

Let me set the scene: my craft room currently looks like a glitter bomb went off in a fabric store, and then someone threw in a few rogue power tools just for chaos. It’s a hot mess. Like, not even Instagram filter can fix it. Enter Austin and Jim—my personal knights with tool belts—ready to take on the disaster and make it something amazing. šŸ› ļøāœØ

Let’s start with Austin. This 18-year-old freakin’ unicorn can read and write in CURSIVE (seriously, who still does that?), drive a stick shift, and—with his incredible dad, Jim—build legit, solid, will-outlast-the-apocalypse kind of stuff. Last week, Austin walked into my room with his tape measure and pencil, sat down, and gave me this look. You know the one. The ā€œJessica, WTF?ā€ look. šŸ˜‚ Overwhelmed doesn’t even cover it, but the kid rolled up his sleeves and got to work like a champ.

And let’s talk about Jim for a second. Jim is the ultimate steady hand—cool, collected, and a freaking wizard with tools. Together, he and Austin are transforming my craft chaos into something functional, cute, and way less likely to kill me when I trip over a rogue glue gun.

Of course, no dream team is complete without its glue, and that’s Penelope—aka Penny. She’s Jim’s wife, Austin’s mom, and honestly one of the best humans I’ve ever met. šŸ’Ž Penny just gets me. No judgment, no side-eye—she accepts me exactly as I am, glitter bombs and all. I adore her, and if you don’t have a Penny in your life, you’re seriously missing out.

So here’s this trio of legends, busting their butts to give me a craft space that doesn’t look like Hobby Lobby threw up in it. Why? Just because they want to help. Like, who even does that?! Right now, it looks like the apocalypse hit, but I know this mess is just the middle of something magical.

And all of this? It started with puppies. Yep, golden fluff nuggets brought these amazing people into my life. 🐾 If we ever had a kid, I’d want them to grow up to be like Austin—smart, kind, capable, and just the right amount of ā€œJessica, WTF?ā€ badassery. And let’s be real: I’d want to be half the mom Penny is.

So while my craft room currently looks like a war zone and I still can’t find my good scissors (WHY is it always the scissors?!), I couldn’t be more grateful. Austin, Jim, and Penny—you’re my MVPs. Seriously, I hit the jackpot with you guys. šŸ™Œ

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go Pinterest ā€œcraft room glow-upsā€ because these rockstars deserve nothing but the cutest final reveal. Stay tuned—and pray I don’t ruin all their hard work with another glitter explosion. āœ‚ļøāœØ
